Well, it's almost that time of year to go camping, weather is warming up, and the ground is drying, so here is my advice for camping wear.

Top Three Must-Dos

Always carry sufficient clothing to see you through unexpected weather changes.

Wear layers -- polypropylene fleece with an exterior shell will keep you warm and dry even when it's raining.

Avoid cotton clothing. It keeps moisture close to your body, which can lower your body temperature.

Hiking Boots

Find a good pair of hiking boots - it's the most important factor in a successful hiking trip. Such boots will minimize blisters and injuries and will support your feet and ankles if you do sustain an injury.

Pick boots that fit properly. Your toes should fully extend without touching the end of the boot. There should be little movement in the heel area.

The boot should fit comfortably across the widest part of the foot.

Hat

On a hot day, a straw hat will reflect heat while still allowing air to circulate. During cold weather, nearly 20 percent of body heat is lost from the head. So, whether summer or winter, wear a hat.

Rain/Wind-Proof Jacket

A wind and waterproof shell/jacket for the upper body is crucial. The best types of jackets are those that are polyurethane-coated nylon with a removable fleece liner.

Also

Long-sleeved T-shirt, fleece or pile sweater and pants, quick-dry shorts/pants, swimsuit, bandanna, liner socks, outer socks, sandals or other lightweight camp shoes.
