Today, I changed the look of the menu navigation on the forum. The old system was begining to clutter the top portion of the forum just a little too much, so I have decided to replace the standard navi links with a DHTML menu. Just some quick pointers, some of the menu options have a drop down box for you to select sub menus. As of right now, the club reviews link doesn't lead to anything (that will be changed once I've added at least 1 venue to the listing). The club radio links to a full screen instead of the smaller window (that will be changed soon).

Currently, I have only added this new menu to the default style. I will be adding it to the other 2 styles soon. Also, with the standard navi links gone, it does look really plain up there, so I think this might be a good time to start looking into a banner to company our logo.

If you experience any difficulties with the new menu, please let me know.

The new nav bar really cleans up the look of the forum. The drop down part looks really classy too. Very nice jax!

As for the items with a drop down menu, is that something you might like to signify with a little orange triangle pointing down or something? I could see it fitting in one of the lower corners of each button. That might be helpful, especially if it's not every link on the navbar that has a drop down option. As always, just a suggestion - it looks great the way it is too!

You're just doing lots of fun stuff this week! Keep up the great work! Smile

That is actually a good idea, and I think I can add a image to the master menu to signify if the menu has sub options. Thanks for sharing, I will look into that right after I complete the menus for the other two styles.

I like the change, you even got the menu colors to match the forum nicely. You might want to check your drop down menu edges. When you hover over them the image is some blueish color.

I wonder if I'm having a blonde moment, or if the link to check your PMs is missing from the nav bar?

Glad you like the arrow idea!

I also just added some arrow images to indicate which menus had sub-menus. Thanks again for the great suggestion. Smile

the bar looks great, but is there a way to make it a little bit smaller?

because at the moment it is wider than the screen, meaning i have a horizontal scroll bar, and an extra bit of space.

its not urgent, and i can deal with it, just would make it look a bit tidier Wink

Thanks for letting me know. Are you sure it's the menu that is causing it? Meaning, did the screen stretch before I added the menu? I thought I adjusted the length to the same size as the forum width. I'm on a widescreen right now, and it doesn't stretch. I'll be able to test it on a normal size screen tomorrow. I'll take a look to see if it is stretched, and if so I can make adjustments to shorten the width.

BTW, the menu has been added to all styles. Luke, you were right about the width, I will change it.

Nice job Jax! The new menu looks great.

I agree with Luke, shortening the menu by a small amount would help.

I guess I will have to take a look on a reg. size screen because I shortened the width when I made my last post.
