Have you ever wondered what the history of the social club was like? Where did it come from? Why is it so popular in our culture? What is it that draws oridnary mortals to these establishments where they imbibe on adult beverages and gyrate their bodies around a determined center of gravity, often times with similar beings of the opposite gender, to music that is dominated by a heavy bass beat?

Some folk say that the "club" is one place where these people can get away and just "cut loose" and relax after a hard day of reimbursed servitude to The Man. Others find it neutral territory to select a mate (this often results in one night stands leaving the female alone, forgotten and often times with child). Others are looking for an excuse to engage in outlandish behavior fueled by alcohol.

Based on my judgments from news stories and fictionalized accounts, I would conclude that these clubs would be no place for a person like me. The last time I went to a similar establishment, where the only difference is that there was no dance floor with which to "shake your groove thang", was to just listen to a live musical performance. One that would actually get me to purchase their music and listen to it on a regular basis.

Another reason why I will not do clubs is because there is dancing involved, and Real Men Don't Dance. Don't contradict me on this. I know this for a fact. Real men are just too cool to be seen dancing in public. Period.

Lastly, if I am aiming to relax after work, I would choose to do it at home where it is safe. We've all heard cases of violence during usual club operations. I avoid confrontations whenever they rear their ugly heads.

So can you justify the existence of clubs or the whole nightlife culture? I wouldn't last five minutes past my personal bedtime. I'd be way tired.

I think they started night clubs so people could have a place to go and meet friends. They started back with juke-boxes in bars . So the combination of drinking and music became popular and later grew by adding danceing.[/quote]
