SNL performance says it all

This shouldn't come as a surprise. Most of the major singers lip-synch their performances, and audiences are not that stupid to notice. I mean, with all that dancing and moving around, there's not enough room to breathe to sing. Especially taking into consideration the performer's age. Am I right?

Artists get so much criticism for lip -synching but if you try yourself to dance and sing it is very hard , you will find yourself out of breath. Back in the earlier days of live concerts singers did not usually lip sync but they also didn't do much dancing. Some artists even sat down to sing or stood till.I honestly don't mind it because it is much more entertaining to go to a concert and watch a good dance performance rather than someone singing and standing still. Just my opinion .

How about singing while playing an instrument? That must take an awful lot of concentration. That's how I like most of my musical performances.

I don't know, maybe change to a wireless mic. I for one know that it does take a greater skill to dance and sing, having experience in a show choir back in high school. But, still I can't get past lip synching, it's a no-no for me. However, I do agree with zoey. Stand still performances seem rather dull for me.

People today want to see a show, the put on a performance. With the dance, and aerobic moves they can not sing because of the breathing techniques and with the diaphragm. The two do not go together. Many big artists are known for lip--synching(madonna, britney, etc)

A show with a mixture I can deal with.

One thing about a lot of today's music, it is done with studio with computer altercations. See the benjamin thread for example, he sounded different after he cut that track in the Red Bull Studio.

I am very picky of who I will see perform live because of this.
