Yeah so I have this friend that's going to Germany to visit her man who's stationed there and she told me about an alcoholic beverage called the green fairy. If anyone's seen Eurotrip, that shot they had, that would be it. She said would try to bring me some back, but it's illegal in the US. Anybody tried it before?? Cuz she told me she had 2 shots, and lost her mind lol

It sounds like Absynth to me, and I have had it before when I was studying abroad in Athens, Greece. I however knew nothing about it and took it because my friend wanted to buy it for me and it looked really sweet.

It came in like a small martini glass full of a liquor like Jag or something. They lit the top on fire and you take it through a straw. Then just as it's about to be empty they pour the absynth in. It's wicked strong, but fun. It's also the stuff you see them take in the Moulin Rouge movie.

You really should take it as one of your first drinks though because of how strong it is.

The rumor I heard as to why it's illegal in the U.S. is because it supposedly has or had traaces of wormwood in it. I cannot confirm that, however there has to be some reason why it's illegal here and not there.
